I am an Italian water sports enthusiast. After having been part of the Italian national team in both swimming and finswimming, I moved to Australia with my family.
One of my goals is to spread the word about finswimming in this amazing country where it is very little known.
To do this, I decided to put my fins back on and give my athletic career a new twist. Unfortunately, traveling from one state to another to take part in the rare finswimming events is very expensive.
In 2019, during a swim match, I (unoficially) cracked the world record of 50m bifin for my masters age group. In January 2020 I helped the Australian Finswimming Body (OZFIN) organize the National Championship in Brisbane. Unfortunately, due to an emergency surgery that took place shortly before the event, I was unable to take part.
Subsequently, due to the Covid pandemic, most of the national activities were canceled.
In October 2021, Perth will host the Australian Masters Games and for the first time ever, finswimming will be one of the events!
Now I am training hard to be ready to show the whole country how fast, exciting and inclusive this sport can be. As a master I am confident that I can achieve world records and international medals. But my real goal is to give more visibility to finswimming and to create a world-class program to compete first in the Pacific area and then around the world.
