Woodley is the eleventh of thirteen children and he was born and raised in Ferguson, Missouri. In High School he competed in American football and amateur wrestling and was already back then very successful. Since 2009 he is a professional and in 2013 he made his debut at UFC. He also competed at Strikeforce and was an NCAA Division I collegiate wrestler for the Missouri Tigers.

Besides fighting Woodley enjoys acting and has already played roles in Straight Outta Compton, Kickboxer: Vengeance, Sultan and Escape Plan 2: Hades.

Additionally, he hosts a podcast called "Morning Wood with Deez Nutz" and a weekly internet web show on TMZ called "The Hollywood Beatdown".

His goal is to open a non-profit facility for troubled youths one day.
