Description
The Alborán Sea Naval League is established in Andalusia as a private, independent, apolitical, non-profit institution and its main objective is the defense and environmental protection of the Alborán Sea and the promotion of its sustainable nautical tourism through different social, cultural and sports activities.
The Alborán Sea Naval League defends and brings together the aspirations of the navies: Spanish Navy, Merchant, Fishing, Sports and Scientific. The Alborán Sea Naval League also intends to expand and coordinate actions in the field of maritime education in an organic way, considering it important to consolidate and develop interaction relationships even outside their own national borders with associations, institutions, organizations, marinas and clubs. who have the same objectives, undertake to collaborate in the development and improvement of «maritime culture and education».
The Mar de Alborán Naval League regatta team is an amateur team made up of 8 crew members, men and women with extensive naval and sporting experience. In the team there are several crew members with various disabilities, although they compete on equal terms. The world of sailing and sports regattas is increasingly booming in the province of Malaga, and more and more public is coming, more media are interested and more institutions appear on the scene handing out prizes, medals and trophies. Since 2016 we have been competing in Mediterranean waters and the coasts of Andalusia, and in 2019 the big leap came when we were invited by the Royal House to participate in the Copa de S.M. EL Rey de Vela in Majorca. With great results in the face of so much competition and enormous international level.
The Alborán Sea Naval League wants to return to the elite of the sailing competition once again and is committed in 2023 to having everything ready, once again accepting the Royal invitation and the firm commitment to give everything.
