Juan Trimboli

In 2022, I re-organised my priorities as my coach was very supportive towards my hockey. I've had a proposal to join a National Premier side for the following season and I'm in conversations with the Spanish coach to find the possibility of starting training with them towards Paris 2024. As a gay sportsman, part of my limitations in sport was trying to be nice an extremely kind towards my colleagues to make them like me. However, that behaviour of pleasing people had created a sense of disorientation in respect to my true self. I've always been afraid of speaking up as bullying and people who used to be friends of mine had used that against me. But since I moved to the UK, I've been reconnecting with the same Juan that enjoyed playing hockey, being under the spotlight and shine through his talent. I am ready for the challenges and to make sports a safer place for children and minorities.
