Rosa Maria Ruiz HellinWien, Meidling Feldhockey, Hockey
In 2021 I finished school shortened by one year. I graduated with an average GPA of 3.6 (/4) and wrote my pre-scientific work on teenagers in competitive sports and received a very good rating for it. In addition to school, I have been working as a waitress and saleswoman in order to finance my sporting leisure activities, among other things.
I have been playing field hockey enthusiastically for the Hockey Community Mödling club for more than eight years now. In my hockey club, I had the opportunity to play in the U14 and U16 youth leagues, also as a team captain. I've been playing in the women's team of my club in the second Bundesliga since 2019. In the 2021 indoor season, I was even able to play with my team in the first National League and won the bronze medal there. In addition to playing, I am also referee trained and have worked as a coach at several summer hockey camps.
My dream is to study abroad and also to be able to combine this with my sport. I always had the United States in mind for this dream, where (university) sport is of great cultural and social importance. Usually, it is common to get in touch with the universities and coaches of sports teams through paid agencies. However, I have decided to do it alone. I have now achieved that goal and have been accepted into the Sport Management program at Southern New Hampshire University. This scholarship makes my dream tangible, but the study costs still exceed my and my family's financial possibilities.
The costs for tuition fees as well as books, accommodation, food and of course sports equipment exceed my financial resources. With your (financial) help, I could be one of the few Austrian athletes who are allowed to gain experience in the USA. I would be very happy if you decide to support me and my dream!
